Junior Sports Assistance Fund

10 Apr 2021 by Paul Mckenzie

You will be aware that the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier Lakes conducts the very successful One Forty One Blue Lake Fun Run. The Club has distributed the available surplus of funds from the event and one of the initiatives the Club wished to achieve is to support in confidence, financially disadvantaged junior sportspeople.

The Junior Sports Assistance Fund Committee has agreed to administer the initiative and to work with our Member Organisations to identify (in confidence) junior sportspeople who have the desire to participate in their chosen sport, but due to the financial limitations of the family, may not be able to achieve their desire.

The total funds provided by Rotary Lakes is $3,000 and it is the wish of the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier Lakes and the Committee to acknowledge worthy and qualifying junior sportspersons who are nominated to us by our Member Organisations. Any funds granted could be used by the junior to pay the membership fee, purchase the necessary basic attire and/or equipment to be able to compete and hopefully be successful through their participation.

Please note that the closing date for confidential nominations is Friday 7 May, 2021.

If you are aware of any Gambier Centrals Soccer Club member who would benefit from this initiative, please email the committee with their name and reason why they should be considered and we will pass on their nomination.
